Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to bring to my first appointment?
Recent payslips and tax returns, a list of assets and approximate values, a list of debts, superannuation statements, and details of any personal insurance policies you have (for example income protection, life insurance, and so on).
What is the cost of my first consultation?
The first consultation is free. This is an opportunity for you to tell us about yourself, your situation and why you have come to see us. At the end of the first meeting, we will know whether we are a good fit for each other and whether we work together moving forward.
How long does the first appointment take?
The first consultation usually takes 1-2 hours. This will be determined by the complexity of your situation.
How long does the advice process take?
It usually takes between 2-3 weeks. This includes the first meeting through to the presentation of your plan. If you proceed with the recommendations and advice provided, the implementation of the advice will take a little longer.
Are you a member of a Professional Body?
Yes, we are members of the Financial Planning Association. To be a member of the FPA, Financial Planners must have more experience, commit to ongoing education, as well as high professional and ethical obligations.
Do I need to see a Financial Planner?
We believe that everyone can benefit from seeking financial advice. We can look at your whole financial situation and address any advice needs you may have. This could include investing, helping you to have a better understanding of superannuation and your own fund and ensuring that you have the right level of insurance in place.
What questions do I need to ask at the first meeting?
The first meeting is an opportunity for you to ask as many questions as you like. We will provide you with answers you will understand. This meeting is an opportunity for you to decide whether we are a good fit and if we can form a long term partnership to help you achieve all your goals and objectives.
How do you charge for your services?
We will provide you with a Financial Services Guide which outlines exactly what our fees and charges will be for any advice we recommend to you. The cost involved depends on the complexity of your situation and the advice sought. At the conclusion of the first meeting, we will have a discussion around the costs moving forward so that you can decide if you want to proceed further.
